Why We Give
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:21
God entrusts us individually and collectively with resources to steward for his glory and the good of others. Nothing brings God greater glory and people greater good than helping them meet Jesus and grow to maturity in him. That’s why we seek to invest our resources into making disciples—here in West Houston and throughout the world, fearlessly declaring and faithfully demonstrating the Gospel in all we do.
As we consider what it means to give individually to this mission, Jesus reminds us that what we do with the resources he
entrusts to us reveals where our hearts are really invested—who and what we really love and trust in (Matthew 6:21).
Paul also reminds us that we can give willingly, generously, and cheerfully out of God’s provision,
trusting him to provide all we need and multiply all we give (2 Corinthians 9:6–9).
