Impact Opportunities

Since its very earliest days, BridgePoint has had a heart to see God's Word go out to peoples all over the globe. This has meant financially supporting work from Central Asia to West Africa to inner-city Houston. But more than that it has meant creating a missional mindset and providing the support, training, and exposure to see many from BridgePoint go near and far for both short-term projects as well as for the long haul.   To find yourself making an impact attend an impact spotlight, peruse our impact opportunities, consider ways to join in our global ministries, and jump right on in.

Impact Spotlights
Several times per year, special Impact Spotlights will take place that provide an opportunity for you to hear firsthand the stories of those who are already making an impact in the city and around the world, and to learn how you might get involved.    Keep an eye on the weekly bulletin or contact John Hopper to find out when the next Impact Spotlight is scheduled.

Local Impact Opportunities
BridgePointers are making a local impact in our neighborhood and throughout the city. While the opportunities change from time to time, chances are you’ll find some of the following opportunities available right now.  To discover where you might join with others from BridgePoint in any of these options, contact Adam Watts.

•  Ministry with at-risk kids
•  Prison ministries
•  Apartment ministries
•  Camping ministries
•  School-based bible clubs
•  Crisis pregnancy ministries
•  Ministry to international students

Global Impact Opportunities
A whole variety of global impact opportunities are available. To find out or get involved yourself, contact John Hopper.

Short-Term Outreach Trips
Every year BridgePoint sends out a handful of teams of teens and adults to often difficult places.   These trips are not designed to provide a feel-good vacation experience, but rather to provide a true helping hand to those who are working long-term.  Participants are exposed to dire physical and spiritual needs and get a peek at God’s kingdom breaking through in a lost and hurting world.

Church-Based Teams
In addition to supporting global partners all across the globe, BridgePoint is sending out its own teams to engage with specific people groups who have little or no existing witness in their communities.  Opportunities to support these teams are readily available and more information can be found on the BridgePoint campus.

Perspectives on the World Christian Movement
Hands down, Perspectives is the best primer on God’s work around the world available today.  This 15-week college-level class originally developed by the U.S. Center for World Missions helps participants get a grip on the biblical, historical, cultural, and strategic aspects of God’s global kingdom plan.  Experts from around the country are brought in each week to present the lessons allowing students a truly diverse perspective on the world Christian movement.  For more information, contact Erik Fruin.

Prayer for Missions
Each month there are prayer groups that meet to pray for our long-term global partners.

Annual Missions Week
Each year BridgePoint takes two Sundays and the week in between to intensely focus on missions and the global partners we support.  This is a great opportunity to hear what is happening around the world (and how you might fit in) from those we support as well as from special guest speakers.
