That’s right, we’ve entered the 21st century and gotten ourselves a blog. (For those of you who aren't very web-savvy, that's "web log" smashed together and then beheaded.) A blog is not a biblical requirement for a church in fulfilling the Great Commission, of course – but we figured that anything we can use to connect with people and to encourage their next steps with Jesus is a good thing. And so, here we are.
I’m Kyle, the Pastor of Worship & Prayer at BridgePoint. (I know you can’t remember that many words in a job title; most people prefer the shorter, “Music Guy.”) It looks like mine will be the most regular voice on this blog, though you will from time to time hear from other pastors on our staff, and maybe even an occasional guest beyond the staff. I guess the goal of this blog goes back to something I said earlier – connecting with people, and encouraging next steps with Christ. We hope what we write here will help build bridges to people and establish relationships. We hope through our comments about things we read, watch, hear, and discover, that you’ll get to know us a little better. But mostly, we hope the Holy Spirit might use what we write, as imperfect as we are, to help you keep taking steps toward Jesus – wherever you are on your journey.
Our aim is to post a new entry here at least once a week, more if there’s something particularly interesting to write about. I hope you’ll go on the journey with us. Remember – you only have to take one step at a time.
Welcome to the future
Glad to see you're getting the whole blog thing running. Can't wait to read more.
