Ladies,
I had such a wonderful time getting to be with you all at Common Grounds. I was blown away by how eager you all were to get involved in what's happening in human trafficking prevention. I often meet opposition in this arena, so know that each of you served as such a wonderful encouragement to me and reminder that God has called His people to fight for justice. Here is some more information on things I talked about at the gathering.
I've included a link to
my Web site. I direct people here because it's one outlet for a number of resources. I have a tab on Human Trafficking that answers questions, provides a list of books, movies, articles, etc. as well as a link to
Free The Captives, my official partner. Also, if any of you use
Facebook and/or
Twitter, my Facebook and Twitter pages serve as wonderful up to date resources. While I focus on fun things, such as beauty tips, I also highlight current articles, movements, events and ways to get involved in ending human trafficking. Most are local. The link to those pages can also be found on
my Web site.
I shared another site with my discussion group, the
Ethical Holiday Shopping Guide, which can be helpful during the Christmas season. I've worked closely with the organization to compile a book of 50 online stores with "socially conscious gifts for the holiday season." All of the businesses/organizations highlighted in the guide work to stop modern-day slavery, protect families, eradicate poverty, promote education and more. It's a great resource!
Last, I briefly touched on buying items termed, "Fair Trade." It's often a confusing subject, and people don't know where to start. Learn more about the official
Fair Trade Web site.
Again, it was wonderful meeting each of you. If you have any questions about makeup, human trafficking or anything else I mentioned, feel free to email me at:

Thanks again for having me,
Nicole Marett
