Cindi and I have been married for 14 years, and we have 4 children: Judah (11), Ember (10), Isaiah (9), and Brooklyn (9). I grew up in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, and began following Christ at age 16. God led me to The Master's College and Seminary where I studied biblical languages (B.A., 2002), pastoral ministry (M.Div., 2006), and systematic theology (Th.M., 2010). During these years I served at Master's as a Resident Director and Associate Dean of Men. God then transplanted us to Louisville, Kentucky to study biblical theology at Southern Seminary (Ph.D., 2015). In Louisville I also served as Director of Student Life and Assistant Professor of Biblical Counseling at Boyce College, Southern's undergraduate school. Our family is thrilled to move to Houston this summer to begin serving with BridgePoint, and we're eager to explore the parks, restaurants, sites, and activities our new city has to offer!
God has given me a tremendous family. My wife Celia (who serves as a school nurse at Bunker Hill Elementary School) and I have been married since 1985. We have 4 children – Joel, Emily, Jared and Amy – who we enjoy immensely. It is remarkable watching them grow up and launch out! I attended Texas A & M University (B.S. Biomedical Science, 1982) and Dallas Theological Seminary (ThM, 1988). I love college football, being outside, working around the house and dream of kayaking the Mississippi from end to end.
I married my high school sweetheart, Andrea, in 1963 while home on leave from the U.S. Air Force. In 1968, during my employment at NASA Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston, I trusted Jesus as Savior through the witness of a co-worker. Immediately I fell in love with the Scriptures and began to seek further Bible education. I attended both Tennessee Temple University and Dallas Bible College until 1976, graduating from the College of Biblical Studies, Houston in 2007. Upon returning to my native Houston, Andrea and I began working from the Spring Branch Community Church, ministering in and to churches who were between Pastors or newly formed. I also served as Pastor of Grace Bible Church of Bellville, TX for 14 years. Our family is our passion and we enjoy our adult children, Tim, and wife Rosemary, David and wife Jennifer of Hockey, TX, and Danah of Denver CO. We have four wonderful grandchildren.
My greatest joy and contentment come from resting in God’s supremacy, by embracing the place He has me at any given moment, planned or unplanned. I love getting to know people at a deeper level than, “Hi, how are you?”… With my New Orleans roots, I love to entertain in our home, cook for gatherings, and sit on our backyard swing with a good book. I believe a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson describes me well: “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” I was born and lived in Metairie, a suburb of New Orleans, until my husband’s oil industry job moved us to Houston in 1992. I studied math in college in Lafayette, La. and traded my volleyball “career” for tennis upon moving to Houston. In addition to the many blessings I receive from being mother to Jillian and Tim, I enjoy any chance I get to be at my husband's side… “doing life” with our children, walking our dog, watching a good movie, or breakfast at Denny’s!
I am originially from Rockford, Illinois and moved to Texas to teach elementary school. One month after moving here I met my husband, David, at Spring Branch Community Church in the Singles Class while playing on a volleyball league. We were married in the church nearly 25 years ago and have been blessed with three fantastic children, Katie, Amanda and Daniel. I have worked in public and private school teaching every grade from pre-school to 8th. I love children of all ages and especially enjoy capturing their attention through story-telling, object lessons, puppets and games. I graduated from Trinity International University in Deerfield, Il. with a degree in Elementary Education and have a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from St. Thomas University in Houston. You might be surprised to know that I have run a marathon and I aspire to be a children's book author.
It only took me 50 plus years to know what I wanted to be when I grew up. Maybe I should say it took 50 plus years for me to listen to what God had to say about what He wanted me to be when I grew up. Working in children's ministry has been a part of my life on & off for the past 20 years. I have grown to discover the joy in children's ministry fills my heart with a love that can only be explained as a gift from God. I thank God for revealing my servants heart to me... which was an answered prayer. I have also been blessed with an amazing position at Texas Children's Hospital West Campus as a Guest Services Representative, another gift from God. The Lord has been faithful to me and I am eternally grateful and forever in love.
It was during my high school years that the Lord really got a hold of my heart and life. Those were tremendous years in my early spiritual growth – years I wouldn’t trade for anything. During that time the Holy Spirit ignited a fire within me and I became absolutely passionate about the One who loves me and saved me. Since then, we have walked many roads together. Some were easy, but most were not. No matter the road, He remains constant, true and altogether loving. I received a BA in Marketing and a BA in Computer Information Systems Management from Houston Baptist University in 1991. I have an amazing husband, Geoff, and we have four children: Anna, Aaron, Grace & Faith; son-in-law, Taylor; daughter-in-law, Taryn, and three beautiful grandchildren, Jackson, Mila & Hilton.
Drummer at heart, audio engineer by trade. I grew up in a small town called Jones Creek, Texas (about an hour south of Houston) and didn't know Jesus until I was a sophomore at Texas State. I have been super blessed with so many opportunities and doors to the point that I KNOW He is with me beyond measure! I’ve got a lot of goals still left to accomplish, but I am stoked to see His will come alive more than anything.
After getting married, my husband Michael and I moved from eastern Pennsylvania to Houston in August 2015. We visited BridgePoint in August and have been attending since then! God has richly blessed us through the loving community here, along with the many opportunities to get involved. I am thrilled to be serving in children’s ministry here! I am also teaching the 2-year-olds at BELA and loving it. I graduated from Geneva College in Pittsburgh, PA with a degree in human services & a minor in urban studies. During college I worked for several childcare/after school programs and volunteered with urban ministries, developing a passion for working with children. I enjoy gardening, knitting, photography, and anything 1940’s vintage. As I adjust to a lot of new in my life, God is drawing me more deeply in love with Him & His faithfulness. I am so grateful to be a part of this staff & church family!
I have had several jobs here at BridgePoint (and previously Spring Branch Community Church) and I can easily say my job is one of my greatest joys. I can’t imagine a more fun-loving and godly group of people to be around every day. I thank God often for the opportunity to serve Him alongside this staff. My husband, Jim, and I are empty-nesters but our children will always be our children and never far from our thoughts and prayers. I am often traveling to see my far-flung family as a new grandma, “Gigi,” and I am loving it!
My family and I have been involved in many ministries at BridgePoint (and previously Spring Branch), and I am grateful to have the opportunity to serve on staff. I lived in the midwest - Illinois, Wisconsin, and Ohio - until my wonderful husband rescued me from the cold winters and brought me to Houston in 1998. I do miss early fall and late spring up north - but nothing at all in between. Charles and I have two daughters, Joy and Katerina. We love taking long walks, messing with computers, watching our menagerie of pets, and playing laser tag. I also like to read and crochet.
My whole family is indebted to BridgePoint. My husband, Joe, and I met at BridgePoint’s old location more than 35 years ago and were married in 1981. Furthermore, all three of our children came to know the Lord through BridgePoint ministries. I received my Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies from LeTourneau in 2014 and in my free time, I enjoy reading, spending time with my grandchildren, walking and spending time with my friends. I also love supporting my husband who is an academic advisor for LeTourneau University; my son, Bill, who is a pilot (and more importantly a parent of my two grandchildren!); my son Tom who is an attorney; and my daughter Rebecca is a local school teacher.
